IM Free Missions

Missions is at the very heart of what it means to be the church, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  At IM Free we long to participate in the great commission by ministering to our local community, and the world at large.  Over the next few months we will be featuring different missionaries on this page.

For now there are some photos from our church's trip to Uganda this past February.

To go to Uganda we partnered with Sun River church from Sacramento.  A team of 6 members from IM Free church went to Uganda with two members of Sun River to join with the church in Uganda.  In Uganda we stayed with and ministered with Pastor Andrew Mwenge and other members of Kampala Baptist church.  During our time in Uganda we hosted two different pastors conventions-training pastors and lay leaders, we ran children's lessons, games, and crafts, and two of our ladies helped teach a women's retreat.  The ministry was extremely valuable to our team, and we learned so much about the beautiful people of Uganda, and how we as the global church can contribute to making a difference all the way on the other side of the world.  God is good, and His Church is big!

Missionary Spotlight

For this section we are going to try and highlight our different missionaries every few months.  This month we are going to highlight Tim and Bobbi Bettger.  They are part of Cadence International, a ministry that evangelizes and serves the military personnel.  If you would like to donate to their ministry, or contact them directly, feel free to go to their official ministry website, or if you would like to read an update about what they're currently doing in ministry, you can read Tim's Blog.

Here is information about Tim and Bobbi and their ministry from their website and a video that highlights their ministry.

Tim and Bobbi began ministering with Cadence in 1987 as summer relief for Travis Hospitality House in Fairfield, CA. They enjoyed the ministry and felt that God was leading them into full time service. They then went to Schweinfurt Hospitality House in Germany from 1988-1991 where God had them ministering during the Gulf War. There they saw many soldiers place their faith in God and go on to serve him. After returning to the states, Tim went on to get his Masters Degree at Multnomah Biblical Seminary. They went back to Germany in 1993 and started the Karlsruhe Hospitality House, which unfortunately closed six months later due to the draw down, and they moved on to run the Mannheim Hospitality House. After taking a 9 year break and pastoring a small church in Northern California, they felt God leading them back to Cadence, In 2005 they returned to directorship of the North Country Hospitality House at Ft. Drum, NY, where they served and loved the troops of the 10th Mountain Division for 10 years (the most deployed soldiers in the US military). They are currently on Home Assignment and Partnership Development as they endeavor to discover new partners/investors and prepare for their next assignment, to start a brand new ministry; Fort Benning Hospitality House, near Columbus, Georgia. They have two grown children, Lynnea and her husband, Aaron Kalinowski currently stationed in Hawaii, and their son, Allan and his wife Elizabeth. Although they have an empty nest, they will never have an empty home, as they open their home and enjoy being "Mom and Dad" to military personnel wherever they are.
